Going Abroad

Experience the rugged beauty of Croatia as we explore its picturesque sights and enchanting treasures. Indulge in the splendor of the coastal town of Brela, “The Most Beautiful Beach in Europe,” and admire the history of Split, an ancient walled city home to the emperor Diocletian’s Summer Palace, built between the 3rd and 4th centuries. We will travel by private boat to the islands of Brac and Hvar, the longest of the Adriatic islands and spectacular with its cobalt blue sea, vineyards, olive groves and fields of lavender.

Activity Level 2:
The activity level for this trip is moderate, with a mix of walking, sightseeing, and optional outdoor activities. Exploring Dubrovnik’s Old Town, walking its ancient walls, and taking a cable car up Mount Srđ involve some uphill and uneven terrain. The island stops, including Korčula, Brač, and Trogir, feature cobblestone streets and historical sites best explored on foot. While much of the trip is spent sailing, there are opportunities for kayaking, beach relaxation, and guided walking tours. A day trip to Plitvice Lakes National Park includes walking scenic trails and wooden pathways around lakes and waterfalls. Optional activities like visiting Krka Waterfalls, a food and wine tour, or a cooking class allow for flexibility in activity level. While not highly strenuous, expect moderate walking and the ability to navigate boats, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
