Tuk tuk ride in the evening. Mama Mia che bella e la cita! Day 3 - Spend the day discovering Pompeii a vast archeological site once a thriving and sophisticated Roman city on a Guided Tour with an archeologist. Day 4 - Discover Trastevere Trastevere is one of the most beautiful places to visit in Rome in itself, but it also has a lively nightlife. Here, expect to find more travelers than locals, at least on weekdays. Trastevere is a neighborhood with a strong identity; those who were born and raised in Trastevere proudly say, “I’m Roman, from Trastevere,” as if to say, “I possess the quintessence of Roman-ness!” Until the 1970s, Trastevere was a place where Roman youth gathered to socialize and sing “stornelli,” rhyming songs in Roman dialect. Back then, foreigners were a minority in Rome’s nightlife. Today, it’s different. Day 5 -Train to Sorrento in Amalfi Hotel Beau Rivage 4 nights Visit the town Piazza Tasso is Sorrento’s main square and the place to go for aperitivo and people watching. The piazza commemorates Torquato Tasso, a prolific 16th century poet born in the city. Ask for an outside table at Bar Fauno for the best views of the goings on in the square. An aperol spritz is a great choice in summer! Day 6 - Ferry to Capri - Visit Villa San Michele and Take a lift to Monte Solaro, be amazed by the magnificent view! Day 7 - Super scenic ride on a Ferry to Positano a cliffside village w/ narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Day 8- Off to Amalfi. Visit the Museo della Carta and the Sant' Andrea cathedral at the heart of the town. enjoy dinner while being serenaded Day 9 -High speed train back to Rome - The Aventine Hill is one of the Seven Hills on which ancient Rome was built. It belongs to Ripa, the modern twelfth rione, or ward, of Rome. Discover Monti: Monti is my favorite neighborhood in Rome’s historic center. Every time I visit it, day or night, the vibe I feel wandering its streets tells: I’m in Rome, I’m happy to be here, and I’m feeling great! This vibe is carried by both travelers and locals who frequent the Monti area. Travelers aren’t too many here because this neighborhood is outside the typical tourist routes. However, with just a 5-minute walk, you can reach the Colosseum. In fact, the Colosseum is always within reach; Day 10 - Time to go home / Departure |
